About NORRIC

Nordic National Recognition and Information Centres (NORRIC) is a regional network established by the five Nordic ENIC/NARIC offices in 2003.

The Nordic offices cooperate actively in order to improve quality and efficiency in recognition work. Through their cooperation each national office is able to benefit from information available in other countries and gain inspiration from how other offices work. Nordic offices draw on each other's expertise, for example concerning specific countries and regions.

In addition to day-to-day contacts, the NORRIC network initiates joint Nordic projects aiming at more consistent approaches, procedures and methods in recognition of foreign qualifications in the Nordic region.

Cooperation also includes study visits and country reports. A trip to Russia in 2003 resulted in a report on the Russian education system.

The staff of the Nordic offices meet annually for a conference hosted by each office in turn. In between conferences the heads of NARIC meet a couple of times to follow up on the projects and discuss new initiatives.

Taking advantage of the close links between the Nordic countries, NORRIC activities are additional and, hopefully, inspirational to the cooperation within the ENIC/NARIC networks.
